We strive to characterise organic batteries to help target optimal structures for high performing electrodes in different battery chemistries.

The aluminium anode interface is key to progressing rechargeable aluminium battery research, particularly in aqueous systems.

Using additives can improve the performance of lithium metal batteries. We seek to understand the chemical species leading to this improvement.

Solute Transport

Partitioning and Transport via NMR

Using NMR spectroscopy, we are able to directly measure thermodynamic phenomena such as octanol-water partitioning coefficients. Ultimately, we aim to monitor partitioning from a liquid phase to a membrane phase with time resolution to establish mechanistic insights to the transport modes across the membrane.
